AERI - Department of Environmental and Applied Microbiology
Our research Department is involved in classical microbiological, genetical, molecular biological and proteomics studies.
The Department is involved in classical microbiological, genetical, molecular biological and proteomics studies. Current lines of studies consist of research of Lactobacilli of exotic herbivores, close examination of compost, its processes, products and microbial communities, and biodegradation of mycotoxins. Thus, main areas of scientific research are cellulose-degrading microbes and their enzymes and biodegradation of mycotoxins; microbiological and molecular biological investigation of Lactobacillus communities; biomonitoring of genotoxicity; the physiology of blights and moulds, mathematical models for their properties; thermophilic cellulose-degrading microbes of compost origin.
